Properly installed pavers can last 15 to 25 years or more with regular maintenance. Sealing every 2–3 years significantly extends their lifespan and appearance.
Sealing is highly recommended. It protects against stains, UV fading, moisture absorption, and weed growth between joints. Dr Pavers Design offers professional sealing as part of our maintenance services.
Individual pavers can usually be replaced without disturbing the surrounding area. Sinking is often a base issue and can be corrected by lifting the section, re-grading, and re-setting the pavers.
We recommend pressure washing once a year, or more in areas with heavy vegetation or traffic. This keeps joints clean and prevents buildup that can stain or damage the surface.

We excavate to the required depth, compact the subgrade, add a crushed stone base, and apply a sand bedding layer before placing the pavers. Proper base prep is the most critical factor in long-term performance.
Pavers offer better durability, easier repair, better drainage, and more curb appeal than poured concrete or asphalt. Individual pieces can be replaced without redoing the whole surface.
In some cases, yes — this is called an overlay. It requires careful assessment of the existing surface. We'll evaluate your slab and recommend the best approach during your consultation.
When properly installed with correct slope and drainage, pavers handle Florida's heavy rain well. The joints allow water to filter through, and proper grading directs runoff away from structures.

1800 Sq ft pool deck with shell stone travertine. Tile installed on perimeter of pool. Crew was always on time or early. Crew was detailed oriented, making sure appearance is close to perfect.
